Last week, the cohort went to The Third Annual Rosenman Symposium: Medical Devices Reimagined at UCSF Mission Bay. The speaker lineup comprised of leading industry experts highlighting their latest work, as well as budding entrepreneurs showcasing their new companies and products for funding and collaboration. The presentations covered a variety of upcoming technologies — from continuous glucose monitoring contacts, to pneumatic-assistive exoskeleton devices, to even neuromodulating video games. The event concluded with a panel discussion comprised of industry and venture capital leaders that covered topics from the growth of Big Data analytics to attractive startup characteristics. The symposium was a fantastic cross-section of the latest in biotechnology innovation from both industry leaders and newcomers alike. The cohort is grateful for the wonderful opportunity from Christine Winoto and the Rosenman Institute.
