Our sixth week with BIE was the greatest ending we could ask for, with our successful presentation and heartfelt comments for each others’ work. The most important part was that we felt successful ourselves in regards to the vital sign monitoring device we were working on.

Our Final Presentation

It was truly amazing to see some of our Capstone alumni present during our presentations this week, and the positive feedback we received from them felt so good, considering that they were the pioneers of the devices we were working on. It was HYPE to see Rhonda attend the meeting as well, our mentor for the past month and someone who understood the issues we faced from an entrepreneurial perspective, such as our interviewees not showing up for our scheduled interviews. And of course, it was such a pleasure to see Professor Amy Herr again, and her charismatic attitude towards our presentations showed us that our six-week internship was a success!

Thank You!

As the internship comes to an end, we as Gold Team wanted to thank Professor Herr, Catherine Dea, Rhonda, the CancerMune Scholars, the Capstone project members, and all our interviewees for such an incredible experience. Not only did we learn more about biodesign, we understood the importance of applying the business perspective with the biodesign process in order to successfully develop the desired prototype. Additionally, we all benefitted professionally and personally, as this internship allowed us to tap into skills that we uncovered along the way, and others we thought we never had. To add on, our cohort was extremely involved in assisting each other whenever we needed it, and we were always there for one another. To finish off, I would like to thank the other Gold Team members, India and Joseph, for being exceptional and supportive group members who always held a positive attitude throughout the course of the internship. Thank you to everyone who helped us in our journey once again!
