Berlin, the self-proclaimed queer capital of the world, is known for its vibrant, accepting LGBTQ scene. In the late 1800s, Berlin became the mecca of queerness, paving the way for queer liberation and pride across Germany. Despite its history of defiance, the LGBTQ scene in Berlin was dismantled and endangered during the Nazi era.
