When some people think of bottoming, they think: laborious (to prep for), messy, and painful. One goal of mine is to help teach you how to transform those 3 adjectives into: quick, confident, and pleasurable. Armed with the appropriate knowledge, the specific steps, and the right tools, bottoming should be something you crave, not dread. In sharing these tips, I hope to minimize your pain and maximize your pleasure. Let’s dive in.

Dilation

What most people don’t realize is that you can’t just sit on the first dick you see (for many reasons, but we’re just going to focus on one today). That’s because your hole actually needs to learn how to open up on command, so that you prevent your skin and underlying muscle from tearing, possibly creating fissures amongst other potential injuries. This requires both mental and physical exercise. There are a total of three (3) muscles just inside your hole that need to be trained: the external sphincter, superficial sphincter, and internal sphincter (going out to in). Thankfully, that’s why anal dilation kits were invented (this one is my favorite). Dilation allows for complete skin and muscle relaxation and, eventually, successful bottoming. Diet

Douching alone won’t help get you ready to bottom. I have always told my clients that successful cleaning out is multi-factorial and that the key to anal health is gut health. For most people, being prepared (either ahead of time or at the drop of your pants) starts with altering your diet, incorporating fiber supplements, adding exercise to your routine, and honing in on what and when you’re eating in relation to when you’re bottoming. High fiber foods should be staples in your diet, but to be honest, most of us simply can’t eat enough each day to really make a difference. That’s why I suggest adding fiber supplements to your daily routine, either in powder or pill form. Douching

When you douche, you want to do one thing: cleanse your rectum to get rid of any lingering fecal matter that may still be present. You don’t want to irritate, disrupt, and certainly not cause trauma to the cells in your rectum. That’s why I developed the Future Method Anal Douche, the first-of-its-kind formula specifically to help prepare for anal sex. It’s an isotonic formula, which means it’s compatible with our body’s natural composition. More commonly used products, like tap water and store-bought enemas, can irritate the lining of the rectum and affect your anal microbiome, disrupting the normal balance of the good bacteria and bad bacteria that resides there. As a result, there’s a chance that micro-cuts and tears can happen, along with other significant complications. If you want to learn more about Future Method, I suggest checking out this blog post I wrote: How to Prepare Before You Bottom.

Bottoming doesn’t have to be, nor should it be, a pain in the ass. When you come correct, you can be ready for whatever and whomever comes next. So remember: try and adopt a high-fiber diet, invest in an anal dilation kit and stick to my dilating protocol before and in between bottoming sessions, and, lastly, ditch the tap and instead choose an isotonic solution if and when you douche before sex. Proper methodology leads to not only empowering the bottom, but also providing one with enhanced pleasures, all the while minimizing potential injuries.
