I came home on this rainy and cold winters day in Auckland and got the paints, crayons and pens out to do some art with my almost-two-year-old. After a good mess and some lovely marks, she instructed me to paint her a ‘meow meow’. Not a problem but she also wanted a cuddle at the same time. Of course I said ‘yes’, i never turn down a cuddle opportunity. So I painted a portrait of our ginger tom-cat Larry with one hand on the paint brush and the other around my lovely Nina. It isn’t that it’s a great painting. But doing it while cuddling my little girl was so lovely and she was so happy, it definitely became the #BPOMD.
