Free Electrons, the global tourism accelerator, was in Lisbon this week. The program that gathers the leading utility companies such as EDP, Tepco or Innogy, brought to Lisbon the most promising startups in energy from all around the world.

After kicking off in San Francisco, Free Electrons has joined us in Lisbon this week to learn and meet with top companies, and to break a few things (we’ll tell you all about it below).

However, it wasn’t all business… It never is. Because at Beta-i we strongly believe in a work-life balance we organized a little something for these talented entrepreneurs.

We had to show the best of Lisbon and what could be better than Lisbon seen from a different point of view? So, we took over a yacht for 2 hours in the beautiful Tagus river to see some of the most iconic spots of the city and then crossed over to the other side.

On the other side, we then took a bus to Costa da Caparica where we had a surprising taekwondo lesson and we even got to break some wooden boards. Here’s a picture to prove it:

After this inspiring class, we then gathered at the beach for a surfing lesson.

In the end of the day, and to top it all off, we had an amazing cocktail at the beach and got to see the sunset right before returning to Lisbon.

The Free Electrons crew is now moving to Dublin for the next phase of the program, and later on to Singapore.
