Betbox — first bet and launch of alpha with Verity
Betbox is getting spiced up with the voice of the people. Many events need a bullet-proof decision-making tool, so we wanted to introduce a voting model based on the community. After examining several different possibilities, we stumbled over an astonishing project called Verity. Verity is a decentralized, real-time oracle that uses the wisdom of the crowd principal in conjunction with blockchain.
As we got to know the team we instantly knew that this is the oracle betbox needs. The oracle provided by Verity complements our infrastructure perfectly, as it aligns our technology with the community.
After starting to work with Verity we can finally announce an official partnership. Also, we are proud to be chosen as the August DEV Grant Winner by Verity.
To celebrate receiving this award, we are launching our Alpha product with our first official bet:
“Will Verity’s team be able to do a human pyramid with at least 10 people and post it on their official twitter channel?”
The smart contract accepts new participants from September 20th until September 24th 1pm CEST. After the bet is closed there will be a predefined time-delay until the voting starts. This delay is needed to make sure all participants have the same initial situation. The voting in Verity will be concluded on September 26th 1pm CEST. To participate in the event, you can browse to alpha.betbox.app and login with Metamask on the Ropsten Network. All participants of the bet automatically receive one OX token directly after betting to test the minting mechanism of betbox in a secluded setting. Next to the distribution of these tokens, we officially launch our bounty campaign with this first bet.
Betbox — Start of Bounty Campaign
Since we have developed several smart contracts to accommodate real world bets it is important to reach out to the crypto community and ask for help to test our set-up and make sure we can deploy our contracts to the Ethereum public Mainnet without potential harm to our beloved gamble-enthusiasts assets.
For this reason, we are launching our first Alpha contract together with the start of our partnership with Verity. To show our appreciation, betbox gives away juicy bounties of OX token to participants in the event.
As the bet of the Alpha-Event, launched on September 26th 2018, is the first ever for the betbox ecosystem, we will put a 50’000 OX (equiv. 5 ETH) jackpot which will be distributed equally among all winners of the proclaimed bet. Furthermore, we give away 100 TGE Participation Tickets for our Private Sale in December 2018, to the first 100 people participating in our Alpha on the Ropsten Network.
On behalf of the partnership with Verity, we additionally distribute 50’000 OX to the participants of the voting in Verity.
The distribution of bounties will be made manually to wallets on the Ropsten Network after the event. The OX Ropsten Tokens will be swapped to OX ERC20 Mainnet Tokens after TGE.
This first event will be followed by multiple occasions where our followers can actively participate in the progress of betbox and earn more OX bounties. We will further publish a detailed plan of our bounty program in the next weeks.
