Social media influencer, Allegra Rose Berger, hid behind a relationship that flickered on-and-off for three years too long with a guy who didn’t support her dreams. She knew in order to make her dreams a living reality she had to rise to the surface, let go and let God do His thing.

Just like that, opportunities flew at her. She would be paid by Victoria’s Secret Pink to Snapchat their spring break event. Urban Outfitters would repost one of her Instagrams with more than 100,000 likes. She would be running her own design company, modeling and getting paid by companies to model their products.

Before she transferred to Bethel University, everyone already knew her as “Instagram girl.” With more than 12,000 followers, she wished she could sit down with each and everyone of them so they could get to know the real Allegra.

She wished she could tell them that she doesn’t buy her followers, and the idea that some people out there believe that she does shakes her to the core. Berger would be expressing her love of content creation and inspiring young people all over the world even if she didn’t have them.

Most importantly, Berger wished she could tell them that she likes to listen to Icelandic rock music while she’s driving in her car. She wished she could tell them Pottery Barn teen paid her to hang up a tapestry in her dorm room that she now calls the “magical tree forest.” She wishes she could tell them her favorite quote from the movie “Dan in Real Life.”

“This is the real me,” Berger said.
