Starring Jodi Benson, Samuel E.Wright and Christopher Daniel Barnes. Directed by John Musker and Ron Clements.

Ariel (Benson) wanders through the ocean searching for anything that does not belong to her. She wants human things in particular, the ones scattered on the ocean floor or hiding within tattered shipwrecks. Among her searching, she rises to the surface to find a ship sailing by. Intrigued by the men and their banter, Ariel heaves herself onto the edge of the boat. She gazes upon Prince Eric (Barnes). Instantaneously the pathway of her very being shifts to a new course, and she begins the journey to becoming the human she had always dreamed of becoming.

This scene reminds all viewers that hope for a brighter future can be above any surface. In an instant, Ariel’s life changed. She locked eyes with Prince Eric and found a connection to the human world, as well as a soul to love for the rest of her life. I would recommend this movie to anybody who is about to give up hope on their dreams. At any time, a life can be turned upside down. In a moment, our dreams could come true.
