This delightful comedy will have you laughing and cringing along with iron-fisted publishing executive: the lovable yet antagonized Margaret Tate (Bullock), and her assistant Andrew (Reynolds) as you follow them through a humorous weekend of snowballing lies, self denial and awkward family encounters. After being threatened with deportation, Canadian-born Margaret Tate persuades Andrew to marry her, who agrees to do so in hopes of reaching his dream of becoming an Editor. The pair travel to Andrew’s hometown in Sitka, Alaska where they must convince both Andrews family and U.S. immigration agent Mr. Gilbertson (Denis O’Hare) that they are in love. It’s lighthearted temperament and charismatic cast make The Proposal the perfect go-to film for almost any occasion.
