2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Squad

Goalkeepers:

Name: Kim Seunggyu

No: 1

Club: Vissel Kobe

Fact: He’s an alright goal keeper. Not the best, but has the most experience.

Name: Kim Jinhyeon

No: 21

Club: Cerezo Osaka

Fact: This dude’s not gonna play a single minute in the WC so don’t worry about him.

Name: Jo Hyeonwoo

No: 23

Club: Daegu FC

Fact: Regarded as the best goalkeeper in Korea. Personally I like him the most out of the three keepers.

Defenders:

Name: Go Yohan

No: 22

Club: FC Seoul

Fact: Energetic, all around player. Can play as a right back or a defensive midfielder.

Name: Kim Minwoo

No: 12

Club: Sangju Sangmu

Fact: This guy’s crosses are as bad as his haircut. The whole Korean peninsula knows he sucks at crossing.

Name: Kim Younggown

No: 19

Club: 19

Fact: Not the most reliable center back, but he has experience and you have to work with what you have.

Name: Park Jooho

No: 6

Club: Ulsan Hyundai

Fact: He’s a talented defender/midfielder that used to play for Borussia Dortmund better on the ball than most of Korea’s defenders.

Name: Oh Bansuk

No: 4

Club: Jeju UTD

Fact: Looks like a 교회 오빠 that would cheat on his gf with a younger dongsaeng.

Name: Yun Youngsun

No: 5

Club: Seongnam FC

Fact: I know nothing about this man.

Name: Lee Yong

No: 2

Club: Jeonbuk Hyundai

Fact: Has tattoos on his arms. Good at crossing.

Name: Jang Hyunsoo

No: 20

Club: Tokyo FC

Fact: Probably the best center back but he sucks at headers.

Name: Jung Seunghyeon

No: 3

Club: Sagan Tosu

Fact: Looks like a nice guy.

Name: Hong Chul

No: 14

Club: Sangju Sangmu

Fact: Looks like a Hong Chul. Has a short neck. Good at crossing.

Midfielders:

Name: Koo Jacheol

No: 13

Club: Augsburg

Fact: Veteran Korean player who at his best, captained the team to an Olympic bronze medal. Unfortunately he is past his prime.

Name: Ki Sungyueng

No: 16

Club: Swansea City

Fact: Team captain. Married to actress Han Hye Jin. Most decent looking guy on the team.

Name: Moon Seonmin

No: 18

Club: Incheon UTD

Fact: If you google Moon Sung Min you will get a very, VERY good-looking Korean volleyball player. Apparently Moon is famous in Sweden where he used to play his soccer.

Name: Lee Seungwoo

No: 10

Club: Hellas Verona FC

Fact: Team maknae (born 1998). Ex Barcelona player who was once hailed as the Korean Messi. Speaks Spanish well so look out for him cussing in Spanish especially against Mexico.

Name: Lee Jaesung

No: 17

Club: Jeonbuk Hyundai

Fact: Above average player. Definitely needs to hit the gym maybe even take some creatine.

Name: Jung Wooyoung

No: 15

Club: Vissel Kobe (Iniesta’s new team)

Fact: Not the fastest player, he’s alright…

Name: Ju Sejong

No: 8

Club: Asan Mugunghwa

Fact: I know nothing about this man.

Forwards:

Name: Kim Shinwook

No: 9

Club: Jeongbuk Hyundai

Fact: Tallest player on the team. Known as the Wookie. His only strength is his height(6'6) which may actually be a weakness because it makes him slow af.

Name: Son Heungmin

No: 7

Club: Tottenham Hotspur

Fact: Our best player by far. Needs to carry hard. Nicknames include Sonny, Sonaldo, Sonshine, Dortmund Killer. Loves secret handshakes.

Name: Hwang Heechan

No: 11

Club: FC Red Bull Salzburg

Fact: Dude plays like a raging bull. Charges at whoever has the ball like a madman. He’s good though.

Coach:

Name: Shin Taeyong

Position: Head Coach

Famous Quote: “You can consider it a trick.” Apparently during the practice game against Bolivia the line up he used was a fake line up to trick Sweden, Mexico and Germany. This guy is bonkers. Wish him all the best though.

Fact: Nicknamed The Scientist because he’s always experimenting with changes to lineup. However his experiments always end in failures. As a result, nobody knows our starting 11 not even him.

Key Players

Look out for Son Heungmin, Lee Seungwoo, and Ki Sungyueng. Son, the 2018 Asian Player of the Year is the obvious star of the team while Lee Seungwoo is the talented youngster looking to showcase his talents to the world. Captain Ki Sungyueng will be the player that controls the flow and pace for the team and he is vital to bridging our defense and attack.
