Knicks at Hawks: Southern Hospitality
The Knicks and Hawks just swung a trade of failed draft picks and now get to play one another just a few days later. Last year the Hawks led by superstar Trae Young dominated the Knicks during their 1st round matchup taking the series 4 games to 1 with 3 of the victories coming by double digits. The Hawks haven’t continued that success into this season as they’re currently 17–23 sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference and have lost 9 consecutive home games dating back a loss to these Knicks on November 27th. New York is starting to put things together and reached .500 for the first time since early December with their win against Dallas on Wednesday. Making matters more difficult for the ATL, Saturday’s game will be on the heels of a Friday night matchup in Miami and their 3rd game in 4 days while New York will have a full 2 days rest.
These teams are moving in opposite directions and the Knicks will definitely be the fresher team. Streaks are once again on the line with Atlanta looking to finally win at home, New York seeking their first 3 win week in over 2 months, and me trying for my 3rd straight correct pick in a Knicks game. The line hasn’t dropped yet with the Hawks playing Friday night, but regardless, I’m riding with the more rested and currently better playing team. Give me the Knicks ML whatever it may be on Saturday night in Atlanta.
