Milwaukee Bucks vs New York Knicks-Game Preview and Best Bet
The Knicks are once again back to disappointing fans having lost five of their last six games including 3 straight at the Garden while the Bucks had their three-game winning streak snapped in Cleveland on Wednesday. New York tries to turn their fortunes around against Milwaukee who begins another three-game home stretch in a Friday night showdown. Let’s see how these two match up and which side I’ll be backing.
The Knicks are a defense-first team that relies on their ability to keep the scoring low in order to stay in games. They haven’t been able to do this recently having allowed four of their last six opponents over 102 points after an 11 game stretch where just three eclipsed the century mark. This spells bad news and L’s for them against other teams who play good defense as they’re 27th in scoring for the year at 103.8 and are averaging just 97.8 points over their last six games.
Conversely, the Bucks go as their offense goes, ranking 5th at 111.8 points scored while allowing over 108 per game on the year. Over their last six contests, Milwaukee is 3–3 and has allowed four of those opponents to score 114 or more points with them going 2–2 during those occurrences.
Both teams are fairly healthy entering tonight’s game which gives Milwaukee the advantage especially playing at home. Amazingly, the Bucks are just 7–14 ATS as home favorites this year, while the Knicks are 6–7 as road underdogs. Overall, Milwaukee is 1–6 as favorites over their last 10 games with New York 4–2 as road dogs over their last 10. Straight up I’d definitely be picking the Bucks here, but against the spread, I like the Knicks getting the 8.5. Milwaukee's recent defensive struggles will hopefully allow New York to find a little more offense and keep this game a little tighter than expected. I know it’s dangerous backing the Knicks but no risk-it, no biscuit! Knicks +9 tonight.
