New York Knicks at Boston Celtics — Battle of mediocrity
Both of these teams were expected to be at least in the Eastern Conference conversation this year but neither has played up to expectations. You can point to many factors as to why, but all of which every team has dealt with in ‘21-’22 leaving the only conclusion being these are simply bad to mediocre teams at best. One thing we know for sure is there will be plenty of points scored in Boston as these two have averaged over 235 total points during their three games this season against each other this season with New York winning twice. The second of these W’s was this Thursday which required the Knicks to surge from 16 points behind at half and an R.J. Barrett buzzer beating banked in 3. Boston is the more consistent of the two teams and also has the best player on the court in Jayson Tatum. My Knicks haven’t won 3 straight in a calendar week since October so if I had to make a pick, I’d go with the C’s at home.
