What do you think when you read the phrase “having standards in your working environment”?

A good salary, a new computer, a desk to work and colleagues that won’t make your life miserable is just the tip of the iceberg called “standards”. And if we give a little thought to a LinkedIn survey claiming that 65% of professionals would quit their job even for lower pay, those standards are not even the tip of the iceberg.

So you and I have to think deeply about our standards.

If you are not willing to discover what you are willing to tolerate and what to expect from an organization, you will blindly follow its standards.

Companies will impose their own beliefs on you, or if you are lucky, you will work in a less manipulative environment in which you are probably trapping yourself because you’ve never bothered to question and maybe go beyond the standards you already have.

Standards are not like software updates, although many people see them as such.
