I spent the last month in Greece. Partly working in a hotel in South Pelion as a Woofer, and partly alone on a tiny Cycladic island. It was a great experience and… I ate a lot more than I usually do.

I didn’t have any access to a scale. So, when I got home, I was very curious to see if my new weight would have remained stable after a whole month of different eating habits.

I was surprised when I stepped on the scale and it read “132 lb”. My weight hadn’t changed in the least.

And I think I know why.

Have you ever been to Greece?

The food is delicious. It really is. It’s everything I love. Vegetables, olive oil, lots of feta. Salads, toast, baked dishes. And desserts… Greek yogurt!

I didn’t refrain. You don’t get the chance to be in Greece every day.

At the hotel, my meals were included. So I gratefully ate whatever I was served. I ate a lot of meat, drastically changing my habits as I usually cultivate an almost 100% vegetarian diet. Sometimes I was served dessert. Often, in fact. Which I also ate, although this was very different from my habits at home.
