As we all know that Tesla is known for its electric cars. No companies can compete with tesla. Everyone likes tesla electric cars, but the tesla still not launching their cars in one of the largest markets that are India.

Nowadays India becomes a good market for every company. The Indian government also initiating many programs for the electric vehicle. But still, Tesla is not in India.

In my point of view, there is 3 reason for the absence of tesla in India.

  1. Most of the people of India are want cheap and low maintenance costs. In every product. The Tesla is known for their battery quality, and good battery means high cost. Even the base model of tesla is coming around $35,000 in Indian currency that around Rs. 2,500,000 which is very high for the common people of India. The maintenance cost of the tesla also very high.
  2. Recently tesla invested in China, and the demand for the Tesla car in the U.S. also very high, so for now the focus of the tesla is in these areas they have no sufficient time to give attention to India. Which is a very large country, and it has no proper Infrastructures.

To lunch their cars they have to develop charging stations all over India. For that, they need sufficient time and proper infrastructure development. If anyone imports the car to India then due tax the cost of the car becomes very high. And at that price they can buy other luxury cars.

3. The mindset of the Indian people is still traditional. They are thinking that electric cars are not good, they don’t want to waste their time waiting for charged their cars. Most of the Indian people are travel long distances so they never want that their car will stop in a medial journey for low power in the battery. So most of the people in India don’t like electric cars.

And Tesla is known for its auto-driving system and high-tech features, but most of the Indian people not interested in that facility, and they don’t want to pay more money for the unnecessary facilities.so the tesla is fell in India for now.

Present time the Indian market Is full of petroleum cars but now India is changing, many start-ups are now rising in the electric vehicle sector, especially in two-wheelers.

And the people are taking interest in e-bikes.

I think like this if e-cars companies are started producing their car in India at affordable prices and a good range then the mindset of people will changed, and they shift to electric cars from traditional cars.

However, in India some people are love tesla cars so they imported tesla form the U.S. just like Indian actor Riteish Deshmukh
