Staying up to date is quite challenging these days. Information overload, LinkedIn vs. YouTube vs. Blogs. Which blogs? Corporate blogs or individual blogs? When I am new to a subject, I spent much time just scrolling through my Google search results to filter which pages I might source my information from.

As an entrepreneur or content creator, you’ll probably have this struggle, as well. You don’t want to miss out on recent trends, but also don’t have the time to perform detailed research.

Many venture capital firms (VCs) have well-balanced blogs on many different topics, i.e. issues entrepreneurs encounter, recent trends in various industries, market outlooks, or funding tips. These blogs are really helpful when I am looking for new tips, experiences, new content, or developments in a certain industry.

Let me help you save time and share my greatest resources with you.

Curated content libraries

Several venture capital firms or research agencies provide curated content libraries with information from different sources.

Connecticut Innovations

Connecticut Innovations is a seed, early-stage, and late-stage investor. In its blog, the firm shares articles, videos, and podcasts on topics like starting a firm, accounting, growth, and exit phases. Find it here.

LatamList

LatamList is a news portal for Latin America (Latam). As such, it has a large content library with current startup and venture capital news for Latam. It also has a dedicated section on the startup ecosystem, i.e. accelerators and government incentives, as well as a Spotify podcast (Latamlist Espresso). If you want to check out regularly, what’s going on in Latam, you should visit the website.

Startup & VC

Startup & VC curates venture capital reports from different sources and provides a comprehensive overview of many different industries. Startup & VC covers several tech firms, e-sports, retail, and the ecosystem as a whole. You can find the collection here.

Valia Ventures

Valia Ventures is an early-stage and late-stage investor with no particular industry focus. The fund runs a very hands-on library on management, product and market fit, fundraising, cap tables, compensation, investment instruments, financials, and founder wellness. This content library is curated from several other venture capital firms and well-structured to provide a perfect overview of every single topic. You’ll find it here.

Wave Ventures

Wave Ventures is a pre-seed investor for the Nordics region in Europe. Their blog is a compilation of whether or not to start a startup and if yes, what to consider for your daily business. Also, the firm shares several insights on legal documents and pitch decks. You’ll find the compilation here.

Y Combinator

Y Combinator is a startup accelerator and seed investor. The firm collected all the videos, podcasts, and essays that its team has created over the last years. Interviews with Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg, insights on how to become a founder, how to scale a business, or how to generate startup ideas. To me, it is one of the most comprehensive content libraries and always a great source to learn something new. Check it out here. Former Y Combinator president Sam Altman shares a dedicated playbook with day-to-day questions here.

CBS Insights

While the above-mentioned pages provide information for free, CBS runs a freemium model. CBS provides general information on the VC industry and startup ecosystem, for detailed information you need to subscribe to a tailored plan. You find the page here.

General tips and tricks

In this section, I’ll share those venture capitalists that provide general information to entrepreneurs, e.g. on how to expand a business, how to scale, how to lead, etc.

Andreessen Horowitz

Andreessen Horowitz is a VC that invests mostly in technology companies. Its content library offers a large variety by sector (e.g. Education, E-Commerce, FinTech, Gaming), by topic (e.g. going to market, going global, how to develop a culture, etc.) and by type (e.g. podcast, articles, newsletters, videos). You find the content library here.

Antler

Antler is an early-stage VC with several offices across the globe. Valuable tips and thoughts with no specific industry focus are provided here.

Octopus Ventures

Octopus Ventures is a European VC focussing on health, fintech, deep tech, and consumer startups across all investment stages. Its insights section contains sector-specific articles on these industries as well as dedicated how-to guides: information on how to build teams, scale a startup, and — from the point of view of a European investor — how to expand to the U.S. You find the insights section here.

Sputnik ATX

Sputnik ATX is an Austin-based early-stage investor. As such, their content is very generic to solve a founder’s everyday issues. Sputik ATX structured the content overview by funding, sales & marketing, product, economics, and startup culture. Check it out here.

Village Global

Village Global is an early-stage and seed investor backed by several successful founders (e.g. founders of Microsoft, LinkedIn, Facebook). These founders share their knowledge in articles here on Medium as well as on a 500hr+ podcast on Spotify. You find the resources here.

Industry-specific topics

Some VCs focus more on general tips, i.e. early-stage investors that still need to get a startup “on track”. Other VCs, in turn, share deep industry knowledge.

Anthemis

Anthemis is an early-stage and late-stage FinTech investor. The firm has a great insights section with events/replays of these events, podcasts, whitepapers, research, and a blog. Check it out here.

Bessemer Venture Partners

Bessemer Venture Partners focuses on cloud and healthcare solutions. You can find the dedicated insights of this early-stage and late-stage investor here.

Brighteye Ventures

Brighteye Ventures is a European early-stage and seed investor with a focus on education (EdTech). As such, its insights section contains a lot of information on recent EdTech fundings, how to run an EdTech company, how the EdTech industry has developed, and, next to reports, Brighteye Ventures provides great maps with the EdTech sector being divided into several clusters. Check it out here.

CEMEX Ventures

CEMEX Ventures is the corporate venture capital branch of CEMEX, a leading construction firm. On its blog, the firm provides detailed information on what is going on in the construction industry and what is driving innovation. You can find it here.

Plug and Play Tech Center

Plug and Play Tech Center is a startup accelerator focussing on early-stage investments into tech startups. The firm publishes ebooks regularly in which it covers recent industry trends. You can find the insights section here.

Radical Ventures

Radical Ventures is an early-stage investor in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The firm shares highlights of the latest AI research and the AI startup ecosystem weekly, which you can find here.

Final thoughts

Venture capital firms provide comprehensive content libraries for founders to learn and grow with the experience of others. The resources mentioned above are great sources of information for your daily life as an entrepreneur, solopreneur, or content creator.
