The second phase of Research and Development (R&D) funding under the Oxygen CoLab is now has now closed. Please see the Invitation to Tender here.

We have spent the last three years working with partners from around the world to accelerate global access to oxygen in low-resource-settings. One key pillar of this work has been our Product Innovation, working with key partners to lab test fit-for-purpose oxygen concentrators in accordance with industry-validated Target Product Profile (TPP). You can find out more about our Product Innovation work so far here.

Following the success of the first round of targeted and catalytic R&D funding to manufacturers, we have now launched a second round of R&D funding to build upon the momentum of the first. This second round has a total fund of £561,000, which will be shared between the successful tenderers (we anticipate no more than three awardees).

The tender will be awarded to manufactures who can demonstrate the ability to have a product ready to meet the requirements of the UNICEF Request for Proposals for Oxygen Concentrators for low resource settings. We would only expect those who are likely to be able to meet the requirements to apply for this R&D funding.

Our deadline has been extended, so Tenders are now due 12th September, with the award of contracts by mid-September at the latest, and project mobilisation ASAP thereafter.

You can find the Invitation to Tender here.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and working together on this exciting project!

Please confirm if you are interested in bidding by sending an email to Oxygen@makingbetterfutures.org stating “Oxygen R&D Funding ITT” in the subject line.
