“Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.”
— Zig Ziglar

We all grapple with the unrelenting demands of our daily routines, always seeking strategies to get more done more efficiently, to obtain a work-life balance, and not to become burned out!

Yet, our constant rumination about productivity often hinders our ability to be productive. We spend more time thinking about the "thing" than actually doing the "thing" we are thinking about, and in this, we lose ourselves and become highly unproductive.

This can happen to anyone at any time and has recently happened to me. I found myself over-planning, caught in this conundrum; I asked myself one question — how do I quickly get myself back out of it?

I remembered an old-school technique, which still works well. This technique, once mastered, can turn your busy, overwhelming schedule into a well-oiled productivity machine, and the technique comes from one of history's greatest minds — Benjamin Franklin.
