“Judgement”, ”Mercy”, “Judgement”, ”Judgement”, ”Mercy”, “Judgement”, those were the last words I heard before I was in excruciating pain. I was in a fire, but my body wasn’t being consumed. Then, I heard it one last time in a strong male voice, “Judgement”. This I believe was hell where I am to spend all eternity.

How did I figure it was hell? Well, I was raised up reading the bible, and if you didn’t believe in Jesus, you will be sent to hell to burn for all eternity. I didn’t believe in such fairy tales. I was an atheist. I guess in the end everybody is a theist, but I had to find out the hard way.

“Hello” she said, “My name is Anne-marie.” “Is anything too hard for God to do?” I can’t believe this, but there are people in hell trying to get me saved. I asked her, “but isn’t it too late?” Anne-marie said “I don’t know, but we must try something to leave this place.” Just then an elderly looking man strolled up and said, “we will leave this place but not like that.” He said, “What if more than one God existed? If one can exist surely many more can exist. What if we ask one of these other gods for help.”

I said, “How will we know who the other gods are?” He said, “We pray to every combination of the letters of the alphabet until something happens, so we start praying to a then b down to z then aa then ab down to az then pray to ba then to bb then bc right down until bz and so forth.” That made sense. I said “My name is August and your name?” He said “I’m Joseph.”

Joseph had gathered tens of thousands of people praying to different combinations of the alphabet. I was one of them. It was something to do. It gave me purpose when it seems like there is no reason to be motivated. To have the ultimate being in the universe as an adversary wasn’t easy. My task was to pray to every god from aaaa to zzzz. That is nearly half a million prays.

“I pray to you dear god, enkg, please help us.” “I pray to you most holy, enkh, please help us.” “I pray to you, enki, please help us.” At that moment a black boy who looked like he was in his teens appeared. He said, “Why do you ask for help?” I asked, “Are you the god, enki?” He said, “I’m he.” A crowd was beginning to gather.

Joseph at that point had arrive at the spot where the god, enki had appeared. Joseph raised his hand indicating he wanted to speak. “We would like to leave hell”, said Joseph. Enki said, “Don’t you think that, if I Enki, wanted to help you long ago I would have. But, I will throw you a bone. You are going to live for all eternity. This means anything that can happen, will happen.” And with that, enki left, dissolved into thin air.

Joseph looked at me confused and said, “gods are weird. Why did he even appear if he wasn’t going to help us out?” “But he did give us a clue how we can leave hell, so we had a net gain from the experience. I think what he meant was if we can leave hell we will”, I said. ”It is possible to for us to quantum tunnel out of hell”, said Anne-marie. During my conversation with Anne-marie, I found out she was a physicist. I understood what she meant by quantum tunnel because I studied physics at an undergraduate level. “What’s quantum tunnel, Anne-marie?”, said Joseph. “If you think of yourself, you can say you are in hell, but in reality you have a probability of being in any part of the universe. You have a probability of being in heaven right now, but that probability is very low. Small particles like electron quantum tunnel regularly, since the probability of quantum tunnelling is inversely proportional to size. An electron could be in outer space and suddenly appear on earth, this was quantum tunnelling”, said Anne-marie

I said, “Even if we were to quantum tunnel out of hell, wouldn’t God just instantaneously send us back to hell.” “Yes, but what if he didn’t exist”, said Anne-marie. “But, we already know he exist”, I said. “What I mean was what if all the particles that made up God quantum tunnel to different directions then there would be no more God to stop us quantum tunnelling out of hell.” I paused for a moment then said “that could work.”

There had to be some catch somewhere; no way are we just one day going to appear in heaven without there being a catch. How long would this take for this to happen? I figured it would take a 10 raise to the 1000 raise to the 1000 years and this was the catch. Who cares I was getting out of hell.

The thought of what enki had said was still in my mind, “anything that can happen, will happen.” What else can happen? What if the constituent particles of God form back together, then that means at some point I’m going back to hell? It looks like I will be in a cycle of going to hell and coming back from hell.

What if those constituent particle reform God but with all my memory and my personality then in a sense I would become a god. What would I do as a god? You would think I would eliminate all violent acts and the like, but I think the world needs conflict. What’s a movie without any conflict? If the world knew a God existed then there would be total peace. Who would dear act against God when they knew he was there for sure, watching their every move, so I would probably need to hide myself from lesser beings.

You know what? I don’t know what I would want as a god. I guess I would create a billion worlds at the same time, each with their own rules and see which ones work out best. Who knows, I might even create hell to see what the previous god was reaching for.

As I kept thinking about “anything that can happen, will happen”, I realise I will become every and anything and so would you.
