There are situations in life when things do not go the way you want them to, and the results are not entirely favorable for you. On the contrary, there are quite a few instances when you are at loggerheads with another person for no fault of yours, and it is a matter of time before such a situation goes out of hand.

It always starts off with a discussion. You are right in believing that a discussion is not an argument. That being said, there is a thin line between the two. It is only a matter of time before things take a turn for the worse and a seemingly innocuous discussion turns into a full-fledged argument.

What you need to remember is the fact that it requires nothing more than common sense to make out when a discussion is leading up to an argument. Once you are aware of this eventuality, it is up to you, as an individual, to make the decision; whether you want to get involved in that argument and face the consequences, or use common sense and stay out.
