Pragmatic Productivity
How to Nab Small Victories in 3-Steps
Big project? I have some ideas.
The long-term effects of our dopamine levels on our productivity is a massively under-discussed topic. At least, in my opinion.
Video games totally get this concept. That’s why there are multiple levels of any game that we must complete before we beat the big villain at the end. Every few minutes, we are dealt a little dopamine hit of a coin or a felled zombie on our more long-term quest to conquer the world.
These small victories are not always apparent, though, when it comes to productivity. We come up with a massive goal for ourselves, we set steps to complete along the way, but we don’t really give ourselves the small victories that it takes to fight through to completing our tasks.
I’m here to tell you that small victories? They’re the fuel to my long-term productivity fire.
The problem with big problems
My garage looks like an episode of hoarders.
I know, I know. I’m supposed to be into productivity, so why would my garage look like the set of Sanford & Son? Well, we all have our outlets. And I’m choosing my battles.
