The 115 Most Popular Habits to Track in 2019

Dec 26, 2018 · 3 min read

Last year I pulled the most popular habits to track from Coach.me’s database. Surprisingly, the list changes quite a bit from year to year.

These are based on what habits people have been signing up for as we head into 2019. You might find the list inherently interesting as a view into the ambitions of other people. Or, hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration for new habits you might work on.

Here are a couple of trends:

  • People are very focused on sleep, with Wake Up Early as the most popular habit to track, Get Out of Bed Before the Alarm Goes Off moving up 34 spots and Wake Up By 6:30am moving up 18 spots. An excellent strategy for getting good sleep, No Screens After 10pm, jumped 49 spots. It may be that people are rushing through their mornings with Make Bed dropping 52 spots and Eat Breakfast dropping 18 spots.
  • There’s been a huge decline in oral health, with flossing dropping 20 spots, brushing in the morning dropping 18 spots, and brushing at night dropping 25 spots. Is it possible that people are choosing a few extra minutes of sleep?
  • If your twitter feed is filled with politics, negativity and terms like mansplaining, you’ll be happy to know Listen More Than Talk jumped 34 spots and Random Acts of Kindness Jumped 40 spots.
