Look, I love my day job. It’s a pretty great gig as far as 9–5s go. The right industry, fantastic boss, incredible learning opportunities, and, best of all, it’s setting me up for a long-term, successful career doing what I am passionate about.

The only issue is the pay.

While the big players in the industry may make millions, at my level, well, let’s just say as an outsider looking in, you would be shocked!

To me, to lure of freelancing has always been the opportunity to bring in a little extra money — building out my savings safety net and having additional funds to afford that weekend getaway or new pair of shoes.

And I’ve dabbled a little, helping friends out with various projects, which I’ve loved. The only issue is friends are friends, and it’s really hard to charge them what the work is actually worth. I love you babe, but I did just rework your entire website for $25 and a bottle of wine!

So as June 2021 approached and after 15 months of working from home, still with a considerable amount of free time on my hands owing to a reduced daily commute, I decided to dive headfirst into the wonderful world…
