Meta launches Threads: A Twitter Clone or the Next Big Thing in Social Media?
Threads is Mark Zuckerberg’s attempt at a Twitter killer.
WTF is Threads?
Threads is a new social platform ruffling feathers in Elon’s Twitter-sphere. Whether the MMA cage match between Elon and Zuck happens, Threads has already been nicknamed a Twitter Killer, and it’s not difficult to see why. It’s the spitting image of Twitter in UX, but don’t be fooled — this is no mere copycat.
You might be wondering, “What’s so different about Threads then?” Well, it’s the simple yet ingenious tweaks that Meta made to the typical social media experience.
Record-Breaking Growth overnight
First off, Threads raced to the top of Apple’s app store charts. Signing up more than two million users in the first two hours post-launch, Threads left other social media platform signups in its dust. To put things into perspective, Facebook took over 852 days to reach 10 million users.
Twitter? They hit the mark in 780 days. But Threads?
30 million signups in one day.
I don’t know about you, but that screams ‘pay attention’ to me!”
