If you run a website, you’ve probably noticed some ups and downs in rankings and traffic over the past several months.

That’s because Google has rolled out four core algorithm updates in 2024, the most recent one being in August.

While many site owners saw a traffic decrease around that time, my site actually experienced a huge surge in rankings and traffic.

I shared all the details in one of my latest updates.

There was a time when I made over $900 from a single blog post in just a month on my website — it was outshining some big names in the industry!

But then, right after I got back from my birthday trip to Ottawa and Montreal, I noticed a big drop in my rankings and traffic.

The decline kicked off in early October and just kept going until I decided to give my website content a much-needed facelift (more on that later).
