Why Now Is the Best Time To Look at Twitter for Your Branding
Twitter’s second act is worth noting
This year, Twitter turns 15. It will soon hit that milestone where it could go into two very different paths. The first, being loved and essential to society and culture, the way Netflix became the OG streaming provider. The second, a forgotten and to some point relic of the past, associated with negativity the way some apps are associated with invasion of privacy. In the past year, Twitter has really stepped up its game and is changing the tone of its space.
At the moment, Twitter faces steep competition from new social apps that are quickly winning the top spot for younger crowds. Many brands prefer to focus on more visual platforms such as Instagram and TikTok and foregoing Twitter.
The way I look at Twitter is that it’s like the glue that holds together all the other social apps used for marketing and branding. Equivalent to the sweet white center of goodness that holds an Oreo together, if you will. Twitter has lasted over a decade and we need to remember that what Twitter lacks in visuals, it more than makes up for it with its power of the written word and movement generation.
