I am sure you are all aware of the recent events with regard to the astronomical rise in GameStop stock prices; no matter where you land on the matter, the reality is that a whole lot of people are richer — or poorer — today than they were a week ago.

If you’ve been able to avoid the social media s#!% storm and subsequent news coverage, no worries… Reddit was essentially weaponized as a means to coordinate a short squeeze against Wall Street — and it worked! Billions of dollars have changed hands and at least one major hedge fund has declared bankruptcy in the process. Details are readily available online so let’s get to the point, how can we get in on the action?

Well, I don’t recommend anyone risk their own money trying to capitalize on volatility, but I do think this is a great example of just how much power technology holds with regard to the disruption of the status quo — and, perhaps, more importantly, to even the playing field.
