Meet the GPT-2 Output Detector

A surprisingly accurate tool to avoid ChatGPT plagiarism

The GPT-2 Output detector is an open-source plagiarism detection tool. The tool detects whether some text was generated by GPT-2. GPT-2 is an unsupervised OpenAI model released in 2019 and trained to predict the next words in a sentence. ChatGPT, also known as GPT-3.5, is a successor to GPT-2.

In this post, I will describe how the GPT-2 Output Detector works and I will check the accuracy of the tool on ChatGPT.
