The time has finally come. Week 1 is upon us. After a long off-season filled with activity, we can finally put together some rankings that are guaranteed to be 100% accurate. That’s right Chris, I can accurately predict fantasy football. I’m that talented. That being said, I will get more creative with the rankings as the season goes on. The benefit of doing the rankings this close to the opener is that we at least have as much information about our teams and the league as possible by now. These rankings will purely be based off of my judgement of each team as a whole going into week 1 and how I think they’ll project for the season at face value. Enjoy fellas.

  1. ) OKC Seahawks: Under new ownership, OKC has some big expectations coming into this season. As reigning back to back champs, a fully healthy (and stupidly rich) combo of Aaron Rodgers and OBJ should prove to be a lethal combo. A relatively quiet off-season and draft shouldn’t be of much concern for OKC. A very solid and deep offensive unit for OKC should be able to carry this team far this season and with some help from some very solid defensive contributors, we could be looking at another deep playoff run.
  2. ) Meals on Wheels: Meals on Wheels finds themselves at number two this week despite the absence of Le’Veon Bell. A high return of key players from last season and the addition of a very solid draft, thanks to having picks 2–4, should keep Meals on Wheels towards the top of the rankings all season. This will be highly dependent on the development of wide receivers such as Amari Cooper, Allen Robinson, and Corey Davis. All of which are either coming off of injury or are waiting to fulfill their high pick status and take that next step to prove their status in the dynasty community.
  3. ) The Quad Father: After a busy off-season, the Quad Father lands at the number three spot in the initial power rankings. Key departures of Derrick Henry and Joe Mixon were returned with additions of Melvin Gordon and Saquon Barkley to upgrade the much needed running back department. This should allow the Quad Father to run out a very solid four wide receiver set every week for a very promising offense. The time is now for the Quad Father to make the next step in title contention and could find a big boost from a defensive unit supported by a healthy JJ Watt, newly acquired Bobby Wagner, and rising star Keanu Neal.
  4. ) Fookin Salamandas: Fookin Salamandas gets a huge boost with the return of a healthy David Johnson. A combination of DJ and Jordan Howard should provide a very steady running back squad with a deep core of receivers. The impending signing of Dez Bryant could prove to be very valuable if that ever comes to fruition, but isn’t necessary for the Salamandas to keep their high profile status. A quiet off-season shouldn’t really impact that contention status of this squad as it has shown to have deep talent all around.
  5. ) The Rolls Royce Boys: Looking in from the outside on the “big four”, the Rolls Royce Boys could not be too far behind themselves. A proven quarterback and running back squad should be this team’s bread and butter this year. Whether or not this team can live up to its luxurious claim is dependent on the contributions of a skeptical wide receiver squad that has loads of potential. If Mike Williams and Chris Godwin make the leap that many people are expecting, if Chris Hogan can continue to benefit from being a reliable target for Tom Brady, and Keelan Cole takes advantage of being in a WR1 role in Jacksonville, then the Rolls Royce Boys may be able to climb the rankings this year.
  6. ) The Phoenix: After an impressive turnaround in the off-season, the Phoenix finds themselves at number six in the initial power rankings. The team I consider to be a dark horse for a playoff run, brings in a very respectable draft class to combine with its gem of a class from last year which produced Alvin Kamara and Kareem Hunt. A sleeper candidate in Kenny Stills and hopeful healthy season and complete breakout that we’ve all been waiting for in Sammy Watkins could be the difference in how deep the Phoenix runs this year. An unfortunate injury to Jerick Mckinnon costs the Phoenix some running back depth in the short term but will be banking on a big performance from Mark Ingram when he returns from suspension.
  7. ) Frank Lucas: After a tanking season last year, Frank Lucas finds themselves not too far behind in the playoff hunt for this season from the initial power rankings. An infusion of young talent for this season can provide Frank Lucas with enough fuel to make a run at anybody thanks to a solid defensive unit to back his team up. The absence of Bell has shot up the value of James Conner. The additions of Derrick Henry and Joe Mixon to support Christian McCaffrey finds Frank Lucas with a very high potential running back squad. A lacking wide receiver squad may be holding this team back but it’s a young squad that is waiting to breakout fully.
  8. ) Can You Diggslett: If this team can perform as well as their owner talks smack, we may have something special here. Can you Diggslett is making a bold call in rostering one quarterback entering the season. Goff is widely expected to make a huge leap this year so we will see how that pays off for this team. This team’s biggest strength isn’t on the offensive side, but it is their entire defensive unit. I consider this team’s defense to be the best in the league boasted by elite young pass rushers Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. A great supportive cast on the back end gives this team its biggest strength. A very respectable wide receiver unit will be depended on a lot this year since the running back department is lacking heavily. Playoff aspirations are very high for this squad and one can only hope (or not) that it lives up to that.
  9. ) Sherleeze: Despite a very active off-season, Sherleeze finds their way to the number 9 spot in the power rankings. The youth of the majority of this team is what is yet to be tested and could cause Sherleze to rise up or maintain their spot in the power rankings. If players like Alex Collins, Kenyan Drake, Robby Anderson, and Will Fuller live up to their expectations this year, we could find Sherleeze at a much higher spot this season. The quarterback position should prove to be a position of strength and reliability for this team and can hopefully be backed by some surprise performances all around.
  10. ) Kid Named Kid: Choosing to hit the reset button for this year, Kid Named Kid finds their way to the bottom spot in the rankings. Selling off pieces like Larry Fitzgerald, Greg Olsen, Golden Tate, and Bobby Wagner (thank you john ;) ) have given this squad some pieces and picks to develop their team for contention next year and beyond. Despite the selling, Kid Named Kid has put out an initial lineup that looks to be competitive so his ranking status will be determined on that moving forward.
