HostJane may be a VPS shop but we heart anything that makes it easy for our marketplace freelancers to build clean, no-code websites free. GoDaddy and Wix definitely win the PR awards for best promoted website builders, so who else is there?

In a crowded field, we’ve found 3 easy to miss stunners that every small business and designer should definitely consider when creating the perfect portfolio or e-commerce site for your brand in minutes.

1. MailChimp

You might think MailChimp, now an Intuit brand, was just for newsletters and branded emails. They also have an amazing no code website builder that’s responsive and requires zero design experience.

Although you will need your own web domain, if you’re short on time and need a mobile-optimized brand site or online store in under 20 minutes, Mailchimp is a good free alternative.

2. Webflow

If you don’t mind using a webflow.io domain, you’ll find Webflow’s powerful website builder that throws in 1 GB of free Content Delivery Network use per month, a useful alternative to build online stores with content management to gated communities and everything in between.

Code beautifully clean, valid HTML & CSS with a website builder that is so impressive you can literally pass your finished wireframes and code to a developer when you are ready to take the next step.

3. Google Sites

We saved the best for last. Our pick and the most overlooked free website builder hails from the place ironically people who need a website builder the most will start searching for one from. Google’s free website builder is as good as Wix and Shopify without the expense. Portfolios, blogs even online stores are easy to create and curate, letting you seamlessly drag and drop all your pictures and videos with no design experience required.

The finished product will be responsive on all screens as you’d expect. You can even use your own domain and collaborate with colleagues and team members with Google’s version history feature. A real-time no brainer!

Note: Recommended with inspiration from Fikry Muhammad, a Dribbble designer who freelances on multiple sites.
