Before appearing on the $100 bill, Ben Franklin said “the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten”. This remains true.

But sometimes, we don’t need to sacrifice money or time for value. In fact, we can get more while spending less.

1. Buy jars with pickles or mayo in them, not the ones from the container stores.

Jars from container stores usually cost more AND don’t have delicious pickles inside.

2. Start investing yesterday

We all start investing someday (hopefully). Do it earlier, and you’ll make more money, faster.

The sooner you invest your money, the sooner you reap the rewards.

3. Don’t shop when you’re hungry

Shopping hungry is the main reason for drawers full of food you’re never in the mood for.

4. Buy the men’s version of almost anything

Deodorant, shampoo, body wash, razors, you name it- the men’s version is significantly cheaper. And with the same features and ingredients.

Both have the same features but one is blue and “manly” and the other comes in a purple box.

5. Rent cars from the city, not the airport

Airports charge the rental companies extra fees and taxes which are passed on to you. Take a cab to the city and rent the car there.
