Welcome to Better
We are searching for the right Designer to join us building tools and automated systems that get patients the most money back from their health insurance. Better has taken a design-forward approach to product from day one; we have been fortunate to work with world-class designers responsible for building Dropbox, facebook, Pinterest, Google, and more, to define our brand and build our product. That’s why we’re so excited to be bringing the role in-house, hiring our first full-time Designer.
Leading Design at Better you will have a core role building out our team; creating a high-quality experience for our users; and working across product, marketing, and brand to ensure our identity moves forward cohesively as we grow by leaps and bounds.
About You
You are an experienced designer who is excited to build Better’s identity, create new products, and assemble a world-class design team. You love new challenges; are able to work across multiple disciplines and platforms; and have strong depth in UX. You understand how design creates simple yet joyful experiences for users, drives growth, and love working closely with the whole team to support their goals.
You possess fantastic strength in both visual design and communications design. You are eager to work across platforms, both web and mobile. You produce clear, concise deliverables and work hand-in-hand with the engineering team to bring them to life.
Our Mission
The mission of Better is to fix a broken healthcare system. Our team has amazing expertise in navigating the complicated healthcare landscape, and we share that knowledge with our users on everything from understanding their health insuranceto our awesome guide to superbills.
As a company, we have bought and forgiven $8M of medical debtas part of a national campaign to help ordinary Americans. Medical debt is a crisis in the US and we bring attention to people charged thousand of dollarsfor an ER visit, chased by debt collectorsor forced to raise money for medical bills using GoFundMe.
