At Better, our engineering team is constantly working hard to improve our user experience, to make it even simpler to get paid back for your out-of-network healthcare. This month we are pleased to announce our latest release and the increased simplicity it brings to understanding your health claims.

With a simplified registration flow, increased visibility into claim status, and a new payment dashboard, we hope this latest version of our web app will make your experience with Better even simpler.

Simple Sign Up

We have completely redesigned the sign up flow to make it even simpler and more intuitive to create your Better account. Our goal was to make the account creation process feel more human and conversational.

To keep things as simple as possible, the new sign up flow requires as little information as possible to create a new user. It is now even quicker for new users to join Better. In this process there are only three steps:

  • Enter and confirm email
  • Create a password
  • Provide a signature

Improved Onboarding for Returning Users

Returning users will find that the dashboard now includes additional features and more detailed claims data. You can add and modify family members, and have greater control over your insurance cards whenever you change plans.

We’ve also enhanced the claim detail view. This update allows you to see all the details of your claim, what stage of processing it is in, and the breakdown of the final outcome. You’ll easily be able to navigate your insurance cards and see clearly which person is associated with which card.

“My Family” Page for Better Families

If you have multiple family members and want to manage all their claims in your account, the ‘My Family’ area makes it simple. All family members associated with the main user will be listed here. You can add new family members by clicking on the blank card (look for the ‘+’ icon). Additionally, you can update each family member’s insurance information on their respective profile by clicking on the insurance card image to the bottom right. The editor screen will pop up and allow you to update their insurance cards.

Insurance Cards Management

The insurance cards page lists all insurance cards associated with an account; including primary, secondary, or former insurance. You can keep track of all of your insurance information in one place — and save some space in your wallet. This area allows you to edit your insurance cards and, just like in the “My Family” are, you can add new cards. The editor also allows you to associate the various insurance cards with each family member on the main user’s account.

View Payment History

On this page, you can see the status of all of the claims submitted via your account. It includes the breakdown of how much you were paid back for each claim. You can see detailed information listed by healthcare provider, appointment date, and more. You will also see a call to action if Better believes that we may need updated insurance information to complete the processing of your claim.
