Humanity
And It’s Silent Echoes
Why do you hide from sight, unseen,
Lost in the crowd’s faith routine?
Where can I find your true face,
When your names in many tongues displace?
You permeate each place,
In poverty’s harsh embrace,
In wealth’s extravagant chase,
In the beggar’s humble grace.
You are only able to face,
The air of nature, in its gentle space.
Lost in shadows where prejudice is made,
Humanity, why do you not pervade?
Present in every heartbeat’s drum,
Yet your presence often feels numb.
On every face, your essence hums,
But I don’t know why, you become mum.
