They complained we were gentrifying Boulder.

I complained we were paying too much.

Their lifestyles were out of reach.

We don’t ski.

I couldn’t afford my house today.

It’s only been three years.

There is no Boulder lifestyle.

Just possibilities born in different pasts,

All present.

My interviews will be less frequent, because I am writing a memoir about the authors and stories obsessed with houses. Sometimes my essay notes sound like poetry.
