  1. Easing (Slow in/Slow out)
Within the first minute of the film, the boy is given a present by his mom and is told to open it. After his mom goes up the stairs he looks at the present and his hand eases into opening it before the dog suddenly jumps out.

2. Anticipation
After the boy picks up the dog, right before he sets down there is a slight moment of anticipation before he sits. He blinks his eyes in excitement and jumps and little bit before leaning back completely.

3. Staging
The dog is thrown on the floor and notices a red ball. This scene demonstrates staging because scene shows only the red ball and the cabinet to let us focus on the subject (red ball). The dog crashes into the scene after wards which lets us know where to look.

(This scene also demonstrates squash and stretch with the dog’s face squashed into the cabinet.)
