The Amazing World of Gumball is a children’s show that comes on Cartoon Network that has a multitude of animation styles in it. They have 2-D animation, 3-D animation, real life figures and occasionally use many other different styles to convey the message of the episode. The style of art is always colorful and full of life. It is meant to be engaging and to pop out to the audience.

Although this is usually a happy go lucky show about the misadventures of a family, it does involve a lot of satire and more mature humor. The screen shots that I have provided, for example, are a parody of both Kung-Fu movies, specifically The Matrix, and the horrid “Social Justice Warrior” trope. The tone is extremely exaggerated for comedic value but it also holds a sense of truth to it at the same time.

Even though this is a children’s cartoon everything is designed beautifully and with a lot of care. It is clear that there is a large amount of though and time put into each episode. This is one of the most creative and engaging shows on television right now. Each element works flawlessly together and they all combine to make an incredible show that someone young or old could enjoy.
