FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONCORD, CA; ROGERS, AR; PITTSBURGH; and DENVER Beyond Lucid Technologies (“BLT”), a software company that has been called “Silicon Valley’s Emergency Medical Technology Experts,” is excited to announce the deployment of the MEDIVIEW™ BEACON Prehospital Health Information Exchange, at five hospitals in key centers of Fire & EMS innovation: Rogers, AR; Denver and Delta County, CO; Orangeburg, CA; Pittsburgh, PA; and Cincinnati, OH, in conjunction with Beyond Lucid Technologies’s fire and EMS partner-clients who transport to hospitals and other care facilities, including clinics, nursing homes, and doctors’ offices in those regions. The first care facilities that gained real-time access to incoming patient data are part of major networks including Adventist Health, Mercy Health, St. Joseph’s Health, Allegheny Health, and Centura Health.

MEDIVIEW™ BEACON is designed to exceed competitive offerings that function primarily as data repositories, having been built to store data but not share it. These also come at a substantially higher price point; require custom interface development; or transmit PDFs and other static data that cannot be integrated directly into hospitals’ electronic health record systems (EHRs). Beyond Lucid Technologies was the first EMS technology company to output a Continuity of Care Document — a federally recognized standard for connecting healthcare institutions, under the Meaningful Use framework — in 2015, with support from the California Health Care Foundation and validation by Alameda County EMS in California. BLT was also the first to comply with NEMSIS v3 requirements.

According to Jonathon Feit, Co-Founder & Chief Executive of Beyond Lucid Technologies: “The past few months have been confusing for the EMS and Fire industries, with technology firms getting acquired, some going away, and others overstating their compliance. Throughout this upheaval, the BLT team continues to do what we’ve done since our inception: remain committed to innovation, thought leadership, and unwavering support of our partner-clients nationwide. The MEDIVIEW™ BEACON Prehospital HIE was born as an answer to concerns expressed by EMS, Fire and hospital-based Prehospital Care Departments about their inability to access data quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable cost. The market was asking for real value on both sides of the patient handoff. Rather than build a proprietary interface that drives up costs, we took a cue from the likes of AthenaHealth, and committed to consuming and sharing data via industry standards, so that we can do more than just transmit our own data. MEDIVIEW™ BEACON can also consolidate data from our licensing partners, and hand off data in formats that EHRs can consume.”
