SPRINGFIELD, MA and CONCORD, CA (October 18, 2018): At the Massachusetts EMS Conference taking place in Springfield this week, Beyond Lucid Technologies (BLT) — an award-winning health-and safety technology firm that develops software to connect emergency response and medical transportation agencies with the hospitals where they take patients — proudly announced that it has deployed the MEDIVIEW™ electronic patient care record (ePCR) platform in Connecticut and Massachusetts, beginning with the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association (SVAA).

As of October 1, all hospitals to which SVAA transports patients — including Baystate Medical Center in Springfield — can access incoming patient data within 30 seconds of field capture, thanks to the MEDIVIEW™ BEACON Prehospital Health Information Exchange.

Incoming records are downloadable on-demand by hospitals into their electronic health record (EHR) systems, leveraging HL7-based federalized Meaningful Use interoperability standards. Thanks to SVAA’s deployment, these Connecticut and Massachusetts hospitals can receive pre-arrival data from any NEMSIS compliant ePCR — at no extra cost from MEDIVIEW and at a nominal per-record cost (based on actual transport volume) from non-MEDIVIEW systems:

· Baystate Medical Center

· St. Saint Francis Hospital

· Hartford Hospital

· Johnson Memorial Hospital

· University of Connecticut Health Center

· Connecticut Children’s Medical Center

· Mercy Medical Center

· Noble Hospital

According to Art Groux, Chief of EMS at the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association: “The integration of MEDIVIEW into our service allows us to enhance the ability of our crews to share information with our hospitals in a real time format with a goal of improving the handoff of patient care. The increased ability to provide longitudinal documentation will enable us to better identify trends and issues within our community to address patient issues in a proactive approach instead of waiting for the 9-1-1 call. Beyond Lucid Technologies has proven in just a few short weeks to share this desire and has worked with us to tailor our implementation to what we need from a documentation platform. We look forward to a long relationship with them.”

Jonathon Feit, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Beyond Lucid Technologies said: “Beyond Lucid Technologies has a unique approach to partner-client relationships, namely, we gravitate to regional innovators, and who want to solve near-term operational challenges — like the need for efficient and accurate data collection and billing — while shaping tomorrow’s Connected EMS System. Whether the topic is field user experience, hospital interoperability, tracking patients who are addicted to drugs, or integrating digital tools for triage and supply management, we are pleased to empower Chief Groux and Suffield EMS in their passionate dedication to advancing the industry.”
