Minor League Baseball announced Monday that right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt was named PCL Pitcher of the Week for Sept. 4–10.

Dodgers pitchers have now won three straight weekly league awards as well as six of the last seven since the week of July 24. Hurt’s recognition became the 12th overall for an OKC Dodgers player this season.

Hurt, 25, pitched a season-high five scoreless innings Sept. 7 in Sugar Land, allowing one hit and one walk with six strikeouts. He served as OKC’s primary pitcher and covered the third through seventh innings at Constellation Field.

He retired 14 of the 16 batters he faced overall, including the final 10 in a row, in OKC’s 6–2 road win.

The native of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., has pitched in six games with OKC this season, making one start. He owns a 2–1 record and 3.09 ERA over 23.1 IP with eight walks and 35 strikeouts.

Prior to joining OKC in early August, Hurt made 19 appearances (15 starts) with Double-A Tulsa this season, posting a 2–3 record with a 4.15 ERA along with a team-high 110 strikeouts over 65.0 innings.

The 6-foot, 3-inch tall, 240-pound Hurt was selected by Miami in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of the University of Southern California and was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers Feb. 12, 2021 with Alex Vesia in exchange for Dylan Floro.
