Would you like to learn more about the Oklahoma City Dodgers directly from a team insider?

The OKC Dodgers Speaker’s Bureau offers a glimpse into the inner workings of the Triple-A organization, featuring a free presentation by Alex Freedman, the voice of the OKC Dodgers and the team’s Director of Communications and Broadcasting.

Freedman has traveled to more than 25 different communities in Oklahoma presenting to a wide range of civic organizations, businesses and schools via the OKC Dodgers Speaker’s Bureau, presenting to groups typically ranging in size from 10 to 500 attendees.

His in-person travels focus on central Oklahoma, but virtual meetings are a newly added option for the Speaker’s Bureau extending the program’s reach beyond any potential mile limitations.

“I think what makes the presentation unique is that we don’t spend a lot of time talking about actual baseball,” Freedman said. “The presentation is mostly about our unique position as a Triple-A team and how we focus on elements we can control. We can’t control how well the team does on the field or which players we have, so we talk more about how we operate as a business, focusing on fan experience, game presentation, customer service standards, the family values we offer and why we do the things we do.”

Freedman has been with the Oklahoma City baseball organization since 2012 and has more than 10 years of broadcasting experience.

He broadcasts each of the team’s home games from Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark and also travels on the road with the team to broadcast each of the team’s road games as well. Freedman leads the team’s public and media relations efforts and also serves as a team spokesman, so provides a unique perspective on the organization throughout his presentations.

The OKC Dodgers Speaker’s Bureau is available for presentations year-round, but is more widely available outside of the Dodgers’ six-month baseball season, which typically stretches from April to September.

“During the season I almost have no time to connect with fans due to the busy nature of my job, so I enjoy meeting with fans and talking with them about what they like about coming out to the ballpark or teaching them something they don’t know,” Freedman said. “The best compliment I’ve received after a presentation is someone coming up to me and saying I’m not a baseball fan, but I really enjoyed what you had to say.”

In addition to a presentation, Speaker’s Bureau appearances also include a question and answer session as well as prize giveaways during the event.

There is no cost for groups to participate in the OKC Dodgers Speaker’s Bureau. To set up a free speaking engagement for your group or organization, please fill out the online form here or call 405–218–2182 for more information.
