Beetlejuice Reimagined: A Glimpse into the Afterlife with the Sequel’s Riveting Title and Mystical Poster Reveal
It’s finally here!
I’m not such a fan of sequels or reboots, especially when you are touching such a classic like Tim Burton’s iconic 1988 film Beetlejuice, but after taking a look at this teaser poster, I think that I’m in.
The poster itself is minimalistic yet provocative. You see a pair of hands holding a long roll of white ribbon with numbers, and centered with the release date in green text: “09,06,24.” This is significant because it suggests that this is the premiere date, September 6, 2024.
The use of green text not only aligns with the eerie and supernatural vibe of the original 1988 film — the year of my birth — but also directly calls back to the character’s iconic color palette.
Now, you would ask yourself, why is that important?
That’s marketing 101, and I would agree with you. However, this long ticket looks just like the ticket that you would get in the 1988 film when you are waiting in the underworld for your appointment after you die. This is a clever connection to the ticket that Beetlejuice got when he was doing just this, waiting for his turn in the film.
