Traveling opens your eyes to what you don’t know, but when you’re broke sometimes the only traveling you can do is through food (not that big of a problem though, because who doesn’t like food?). Luckily, this no-longer-small college town has a wide range of different exotic eateries.

Do you like experiencing different flavors? How about new cultures? Do you like to eat?

If you answered yes, or no, just keep reading to see where you can take your taste buds next.

DISCLAIMER: every place listed is delicious, so sorry if you fall in love.

LAS DELICIAS TAQUERIA — Mexican

Las Delicias offers a variety of delicious Mexican plates. They make tortas, tacos, burritos and quesadillas. You get to chose the meat, and they have a lot of options. On Saturdays and Sundays they prepare a menudo special for only $7! For those who don’t know, menudo is a traditional Mexican soup made of hominy, red pepper spice and tripe. Super good. They are open from 8am to 8pm and are located at 1311 N College Ave. Did I mention they’re a food truck? I think we can all say a majority of the food that we get from food trucks is always great.

BAWARCHI BIRYANIS — Indian

Indian cuisine never lacks a variation of spices, you’ll notice if you try some of Bawarchi Biryanis plates. They cook plates from both Northern and Southern India, so you can taste what the differences are. They also have vegetarian meals, tandoor (clay-oven cooked chicken), naan (Indian bread), lassi (creamy yogurt drink), and of course, an array of biryani, traditional indian rice. YUM. They also have a bakery where you can purchase different pastries. They’re located at 1611 S College Ave and are open from 11 to 9:30.

PHO DUY — Vietnamese

I just recently went here and my life was changed. Pho Duy, quite obviously, offers pho, a Vietnamese soup consisting of herbs, rice noodles and beef or chicken. If you’ve never tried it, make sure to stop by here. Typically pho is eaten with chopsticks, so it’s can be a different experience. They are located at 902 W Drake Rd #1 and are open from 11 to 9. If you’ve already had pho, you can try some of their other plates; noodle bowls, rice plates, egg rolls, rice paper rolls, etc.

MAZA KABOB — Middle Eastern

Let’s face it, kabobs are some of the best food that has ever been created. It is quite literally just food on a stick — absolutely genius if you ask me. Maza Kabob does kabobs the right way. They offer chicken, steak, ground beef and veggie kabobs, each served with basmati rice, afghan salad, potato korma and yogurt salad. They also have a variety of different vegetarian plates, Afghan toast and much more. They are located at 2427 S College Ave and are open from 11 to 9, but close on Sundays.

PANINOS— Italian

To be real with you, my favorite Italian Restaurant would be Bisetti's but they are tragically shutting down the end of this month *teardrop*, so Paninos Italian Restaurant is the next best. They are located at 310 W Prospect Road and are best known for their pizza and pasta. Here, you have the option to “make your own” pizza. You choose the toppings, crust, sauce and cheese and they whip it up. Pretty sweet. They have several different pasta choices too such as; spaghetti, fettuccine alfredo, penne bolognese, parmigiana, lasagna and manicotti, to name a few. If you’re not really into pasta or pizza, that’s okay they make different soups and salads here also, and some bomb garlic bread. They’re open from 11 to 9.

Living in Fort Collins makes it easy to experience new cultures because their food scene is popping. Next time you’re hungry or sad that you can’t travel, travel your mouth to a new world full of different flavors by visiting one of these places.
