5 places in Old Town to get your chocolate fix

Everyone enjoys some chocolate now and then, but some enjoy chocolate every minute of every day. Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and although it may be the season a love, it is also the season of chocolate. Fort Collins is packed with places to get some chocolate. Let me show with you some of the best places to get your fix.

1. Waffle Lab

Waffles are a vehicle for basically any flavor you want to transport. Chocolate is no exception, and Waffle Lab has delicious waffles to go with delicious chocolate. If a waffle mention chocolate syrup on the menu expect Ghirardelli chocolate syrup. Although not a chocolate over load, it will satisfy any chocolate lover. From 3–8pm Thursday through Saturday the Waffle Lab offers happy hour which means you can buy smaller waffles at half the price of the larger ones. This means a person can try 4 waffles for the price of 2 which is always great for the person who can’t choose.

2. Insomnia Cookies

If you sometimes need a warm cookie that more chocolate then cookie at 2 in the morning, I have just the place for you. Insomnia Cookies offers a variety of cookies and they all come warm like they are just out of the oven. The Triple chocolate chip cookie contains tons of melted chocolate chips that will have you asking “Do I have chocolate on my face?” in the best possible way. Do not forget the milk with these. 3. Kilwins Chocolates & Ice Cream

Kilwins has a massive selection of chocolate. There are truffles, fudges, and all kinds of things dipped in chocolate. In fact, at Kilwins, they will dip anything you give them into chocolate for just the price of the chocolate. An employee there says a lot of people like to dip wine bottles, but the weirdest thing was broccoli. Whether it is something you bring or something you pick up there, Kilwins has you covered (in chocolate).

4) Nuance Chocolate

No list about Fort Collins chocolate is complete without the mention of Nuance. If you have ever wanted to taste chocolate from around the world there is no better place. Nuance is a bean to bar chocolate place meaning they do it all start to finish. This place is an experience. Other then the bars, a person can get drinks there. With a half of bar of their famous chocolate in every cup there is no better place to get a sophisticated cup of hot chocolate.

5) The Chocolate Cafe

The Chocolate Cafe is the embodiment of chocolate fix. From six layer chocolate ganache cake to white chocolate croissant bread pudding, The Chocolate Cafe will make a chocolate lover cry tears of happiness. There are even chocolate raviolis. The Chocolate Cafe has a classic sit down french cafe feel and has a great atmosphere for just savoring chocolate.

They even have chocolate themed drinks. Go at happy hour and get then chocolate martini half off. It’s a sweet drink that really hits the spot.

Those are some of the best places to get your chocolate on in Old Town. If you decided you want to take them all on in one day my suggestion would be to go at 3pm on a Saturday. Grab half waffles at Waffle Lab, get a dessert and happy hour drink at The Chocolate Cafe, Visit Kilwins for some chocolate to take home, Walk to Nuance to for hot chocolate or a chocolate flight, then finish it all off by stopping by Insomnia for a hot cookie to take home. You may have a tummy ache, but your sweet tooth will be in heaven.
