Here’s the deal. Tacos are delicious, fast, and convenient… and no matter who you are or where you are, it’s always important to have a few great taco shops in your area. Fort Collins is pretty well known for its large college-student population, and with college kids comes college appetites; that’s where taco shops come in. Whether you’re a college student or not, though, anyone and everyone enjoys a good taco. What better way to satisfy a midnight craving than to go to your favorite taco shop? Get ready for five of the best places to get tacos in FoCo…

# 5 — Chipotle Mexican Grill

Okay I get it; everybody (especially college students) raves about how great Chipotle is, and if it’s that popular for burritos can its tacos really be that good? Well, the simple answer is yes, absolutely. Although Chipotle’s tacos contain the same ingredients as the burritos, the bowls, the salads, and… well everything else on the menu, this is what makes them unique! The consistency is key, and the fact that you know exactly what you’re going to get every time, never leaves you wondering. The ingredients are simple, yet delicious.

#4 —Pueblo Viejo

Known to be one of the best Mexican restaurants in all of Old Town Fort Collins, Pueblo Viejo offers a large variety of delicious tacos. From soft to hard, from corn to flower, from chicken to steak…this place has all you need to make your taco experience in Fort Collins a little better. Not only are the portion sizes big and filling, but the tacos also come with a choice of side. What’s better than that?

#3 —Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant

Coming in hot at number three, the Rio Grande, or what most people refer to, as “The Rio” is pretty well known for its $4 margarita special on Thursdays. What a lot of people don’t know, though, is how great their tacos are. What makes these tacos so unique is the variety of meat you can choose from. One of the most delicious tacos is the pan-seared Mahi. This is both flavorful and decently priced. Make sure to stop by for a margarita on Thursday, though.

#2 — Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

Ahh yes, the very famous Fuzzy’s. This popular place is not only an awesome environment for hanging out and grabbing great food, but also snagging a beer, beerita, fish bowl, or any other alcoholic beverage. The tacos are worth mentioning, too. With choices of fried or grilled fish and shrimp, and the classic pork, steak and chicken options, there’s no doubt this is a great taco feast spot. Fuzzy’s famous sauce in each taco really puts these bad boys over the top, and with the fresh toppings of lettuce, tomato, and feta cheese, these tacos are irresistible. So, looking for a cool place to hang out and get good food? Fuzzy’s is the place to be.

#1 — — Dam Good Tacos

The moment we’ve all been waiting for… the BEST taco shop in all of Fort Collins. Dam Good Tacos…and they are damn good. The best part about this taco shop is the hipster vibe and the awesome location…just off Laurel Street in a back alley way; no one would ever suspect such a low-key place to have such good food. The shop was first created in Colorado, with Fort Collins being the second restaurant location to open. These tacos are made fresh every day with healthy ingredients to choose from, and are always served on a flour tortilla. The options are endless, as there are even vegan and vegetarian tacos. This is truly a taco shop for everyone.
