So your parents finally made it in town to visit and now want to have deep conversation about your future over waffles, or you’re just really in the mood for an awesome brunch in FoCo, look no further!

Here is a list of restaurants that have a deep appreciation for the most important meal of the day:

  1. Cafe Bluebird- (0.4 miles from campus)

If you ever lived in Allison Hall, then you might have noticed this cute little joint that is right across the street. Located at 524 W Laurel Street, they are just North of campus. They are well known for using ingredients that are locally sourced. In the mood for biscuits and gravy? Make sure to check out their breakfast schedule. They offer their breakfast menu until 11:30 am during the week and all day during the weekend. If someone’s not feeling breakfast, they also serve lunch, so really it’s a win-win situation! (No bluebirds were harmed in the making of this restaurant)

2. The Waffle Lab- (1.1 miles from campus)

Living up to its name, this brunch spot is sure to appeal to your brunch cravings. Located at 130 W Olive St, it’s worth the short trip if you’ve got waffles on your mind. They have perfected the waffle and use it as a base to create both sweet and savory dishes. They make a waffle called the Liege Waffle, most commonly known to us as the Belgian waffle. If you want to know more about their process go to their website or here to if you feel brave enough to make it yourself . If you want breakfast for dinner this could be the place of your dreams, on the weekends it’s open until 8 pm.

3. Silver Grill Cafe- (1.5 miles from campus)

Giant. Cinnamon. Rolls. Need I say more? Located in Old Town, this diner is only a short car ride away from CSU at 218 Walnut St. To reiterate how seriously they take their cinnamon rolls, they have a whole menu dedicated just for them. Aside from these baked goodies, they are also known for being the oldest restaurant in Fort Collins, going all the way back to 1912. They must be doing something right if they’ve been open for over 100 years! If your parents delve too deep in asking how your midterms went or you’re just really looking to change the subject, this restaurant’s history could be the way to go. Here’s a whole timeline of their history just in case you need it

4. La Creperie & French Bakery of Fort Collins- (2.2 miles from campus)

This French Cafe is the place to go if you’re feeling up for eating something with more of an international flair. Still close to CSU, it’s at 2722 S.College Ave. They make everything themselves from scratch. They have everything from authentic croissants and crepes to macarons. They’re open until 2:30 pm everyday of the week except Monday. Here’s their website if you need more info or want to look closer at their menu.

5. Breakfast Club- (2.8 miles from campus)

No not the movie, but eating at this cozy place will give you the same kind of nostalgic happy feelings you get after watching that classic. Serving both breakfast and lunch, they’re open Monday through Saturday 6 am until 2 pm and Sunday until 1:30 pm. They are known for their simplistic style of cooking and small hometown feel, which is perfect for catching up with friends or relatives if you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere. Don’t you forget about their menu.

6. Sammy’s Breakfast Bar- (3.9 miles from campus)

Oh the places you’ll go to get a good breakfast in Fort Collins, this is definitely one of them. My name may not be Sam but I really do think you should try out a place that sells green eggs and ham. You’ll want to relive your childhood a bit and jump back into the world of one of the most famous children’s authors Dr. Seuss through this themed breakfast restaurant. Don’t worry, they have non-storybook dishes which include perfectly normal omelets, pancakes, waffles, and sandwiches galore! Their food is fresh and made from scratch everyday. Nothing says I want to escape the pressures of adulthood more than reliving a favorite children’s book through a restaurant. If you want to check out more of this cute place look here. Here’s their official website too!

I don’t think you can find any restaurants with more eggcelent breakfast/brunch menus (I’m sorry but I had to.)
