Fort Collins- Since cannabis was legalized in Colorado, it has become increasingly clear how many different people in the community use cannabis. Here is a fun list if 7 people I see regularly at my local dispensary.

1. The Stereotypical Stoner

We’ve entered the stage in society (at least in Fort Collins) where people know that all types of people use cannabis, so the stereotypical stoner is even more ridiculed for standing out as a stoner.

2. Students Looking to Relax

Maybe this is because I am also a student, but I find that whenever I go into the dispensaries I see other students. They tend to stand out in Colorado State University gear, backpacks, and with stressed out looks on their faces.

3. Soccer Moms

Filled with anxiety and 1,000,000 things to do, many moms in mini vans visit their local dispensaries. More often than not they go for the edibles or discreet vape cartridges. #cannamom is a fairly rapidly growing hashtag on Instagram!

4. Older Men in Camo/ Cowboy hat

For whatever reason, more often then not I enter the dispensary and find middle to older aged men in camo or cowboy hats who talk the dispensary workers up like none other. Always extremely talkative, and 9/10 comment on how cool my purple hair is. In fact, one Cannabis activist on Instagram, @southerndabber_420, is a keen example of southern delight!

5. Middle Aged Women looking for CBD

Being that I have personally turned 5+ middle aged white women to the dispensaries for CBD exclusively, I’ve noticed that I am one of many. It seems like ever cannabis consumer I know has convinced a moderately conservative woman to consider the positive effects of cannabinoids.

6. Middle Aged Hippies

Unsurprisingly, the people who really gave the term hippy meaning are often in the dispensaries. Covered with tie-dye and sometimes beads, often smelling of patchouli.

7. Any 21+ Fort Collins Resident

As more and more research is done regarding cannabis use and its effects, they are learning it’s a lot like a fine red wine or dark chocolate, delicious and good for the body and mind. Dispensaries are popping up all over the Fort Collins area, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
