Pizza and beer, a combo so good it must have been concocted by Gods, or maybe just Krazy Karl’s. Or is there a difference? Nevertheless, Krazy Karl’s Pizza and Suds is the best pizza West of the Mississippi. Well, I’m not actually sure about that, but Karl’s has the best slice in FoCo, which is nothing to sniffle at.

If you’ve ever stepped foot in the Fort Collins city limits, its not hard to notice that there is an abundance of pizza joints. Trying to pick which place to grab some pizza is like trying to decide between Rolling Rock or 90 Shilling. You know what you’re getting, but you may end up having some regrets.

The simple solution is to just search “Fort Collins pizza” on google and see what comes up. Trip Advisor, Yelp, Groupon and Zomato are good places to start.

If you clicked on those links, you might have noticed they all lead to reviews for Krazy Karl’s Pizza. That is no accident.

Remember the pizza and beer combo? That is really all you need to know. With 16 beers on tap in their Bierhaus, Karl’s has an atmosphere that no other pizza joint compares to. They stay open until 3am everyday and serve beer up to 1:30am. You can start or end your night at Karl’s.

Trying to save some money? Karl’s has specials running Monday-Thursday. Taste buds craving something other than pizza? Try a grinder, or jalapeño poppers, or chicken wings or fries.

If you go the reviews route, depending on where you look, you may notice that some spots have better ratings. That’s no knock on Karl’s, it just shows how good the competition is in Fort Collins. Cosmo’s, Pizza Casbah, Panhandler’s and Slyce are all valiant opponents of Krazy Karl’s. But there is something about a cream cheese, sausage and pepperoni pizza with spicy ranch followed by a nice cold beer that keeps people coming back on a borderline addictive pace.

One knock on Karl’s you will see is the wait time, and that’s a more than fair criticism. If you go during rush hour, you might be waiting for over an hour after you order.

Don’t jump ship just yet. The wait does suck, but they have been voted ‘Best of CSU’ two years in a row. People know they have to wait, but still decide to stick it out at Karl’s rather than go literally across the street to Cosmo’s or Panhandler’s.

The Fort Collins pizza scene is stellar, and you really cant go wrong with your choice. But if you are looking for something with a little more to offer than the rest, something more unique, Karl’s is the way to go.

Krazy Karl’s Pizza and Suds; you’re gonna like the way it tastes, I guarantee it.
